REPORT

At long last a win at home, and a big one at that!

Thy need only to draw their last game to make sure of a in the Levain Cup playoffs!

The game could have been divided into two distinct periods:

Until the 40th minute it was mainly of period of domination for Sendai, and one of a hurried defense for S-Pulse.

In the 36th some poor marking and tackling, hampered by the driving rain allowed a goal Nagai could much do about.

That seemed to wake up S-Pulse who the pressed onto Sendai’s box. This finally brought its reward in the 41st minute when Fukumori did well his first-ever goal for S-Pulse, lurking among the opposite defenders to fire the ball in from short range past a crowd of players.

During the extra time Valdo was brought down inside the box by a harried defense and Kaneko made no mistake in converting the penalty kick.

The second saw almost a constant domination from S-Pulse who could have made even more damage.

In the 48th minute Goto did well to run past three defenders before sending a low cross that Disaro converted for a fine goal under pressure. No wonder he celebrated his first goal for S-Pulse and in the top J1 League in style!

Several chance begging after that, but one more fine movement brought Nakayama inside the box to shoot across the goalkeeper’s defense inside the far post.

This is very encouraging indeed from a mainly second-string (mind you, many were starters last years!) team. It could not have come at a better time and S-Pulse will have to confirm it against Yokohama FC next Sunday at home for the 13th day of the J1 League!

Make the fans happy again!
