REPORT

Another draw…

Once again, we cannot win at home…

Once again, we concede an equalization in the last 10 minutes…

We had started the game well enough, although the very first minute saw a nervy defense.

In the 16th minute Santana missed a difficult rebound inside the box after Ronald had taken a chance with a powerful long-range shot.

In the next minute a completely out of position S-Pulse defense was lucky not to concede a goal.

But in the 20th minute a long cross by Yamahara found Santana at the far post who headed in a superb goal from a very acute angle.

In the 38th minute S-Pulse grabbed a ball from Hisroshima’s defense and sent Santana inside the box, but the latter could not score and killed the game at the same time. And that is where and when the final drawn result originated from.

In the 67th minute Hiroshima almost caught S-Pulse after a quick counter.

But in the very next minute a static S-Pulse defense let Hiroshima sent a cross from middle range which met on the volley with no opposition.

In the 70th minute S-Pulse exploited a poor defense by Hiroshima with Santa tapping in a goal from close range.

But instead of piling more pressure on their opponents, S-Pulse started defending in the most negative way adding back passes to more back passes instead of kicking the ball forward for their forwards to chase and instead fell more and more back allowing their opponents to pressure them.

In the 75th minute Hiroshima almost score from a well-taken corner kick and S-Pulse were only saved by the far post.

In the 79th minute Gonda saved a long-range attempt after a poor corner kick clearance.

And in the very next minute S-Pulse yet conceded another penalty the whole defense just looked at. Gonda almost saved it but he could not stop the rebound.

Both teams had a last chance in added time but game ended in a draw in torrential rain.

In the end S-Pulse which should have won the game in the first half almost lost it in the end.

Next game is on Tuesday (Golden Week) at Shonan Belmare for the so-called “Shirasu Derby”.

S-Pulse could well surprise us as they win only away from their base!
