REPORT
A frustrating but very encouraging result!

S-Pulse had to play at Urawa against a club they have not beaten for the last ten encounters. Moreover Urawa Reds, even at home is a super defensive the exact opposite of an all attacking and increasingly attractive Shimizu Team.

S-Pulse ended up with outrageous numbers with twice as much possession, shots on target and more corner kicks. They especially dominated the first half with three clear-cut chances they should have converted. The second half saw a more even game with Urawa at last showing some enterprise. But in the 54th minute they were helped by another soft goal gifted by 5 S-Pulse defenders looking at a single Urawa forward.

But S-Pulse is changing into a never give-up team with the weapons to back it up. These weapons are a very high-level bench with many young promising players and aggressive backs adding their height and penetration to all attacks especially on set pieces.

In the 86th minute A corner kick from the right saw center back Valdo head the ball a first time to the goal which was not properly cleared by the Urawa defense and Nakamura, just fresh from the bench ran around the Urawa defense before sending a superb loop cross to Valdo who did not make any mistake with a powerful header for his second goal in two games.

Head Coach Clowaski was quite satisfied with his win which should have won the game in the first half and had the guts to come back in the last minute against all odds. The team is definitely on rising curve which has only started and should offer more joy to its fans.

Next Wednesday will see the second game of a shortened Levain Cup, a good opportunity of giving play time to the other members of the team who will be keen to prove they are as good as the starting players of the day!
