REPORT

VERY BIG WIN…

But it was never easy and for once Lady Luck seemed to try and compensate for all the heart-breaking jinxes that had beset us until then.

Truth be told, the team is starting to jell, be it with starting members or substitutes, and concentration was rarely broken, and we kept counter attacking until the very last seconds.

Nagoya attacked from the very beginning and only a post kept them away in the very 1st minute.

Nagoya also wasted a golden opportunity in the 17th minute when a counter had the last attacker face Gonda face to face.

But then S-Pulse started to assert themselves and in the 21st minute Hara’s long-range shot following his own interception almost beat the opposite goal keeper.

And in the 38th minute a counter sent Carlinhos running on the left before pivoting and sending the perfect pass to Nishizawa who lurked just outside the box. The latter produced a cool long range low shot that beat the Nagoya keeper inside the right post.

A great goal at the best of times.

In the 47th minute Nishizawa almost scored his second goal of the day after another clever counter but the far left post denied him.

It was the turn of S-Pulse to be saved by the far-right post in the 72nd minute.

Ibayashi came from the bench to reinforce the defense line to 5 members as Nagoya’s pressure was becoming too hard who had had a goal disallowed .

S-Pulse had probably done enough but in very last minutes of extra time after a Nagoya defender had been red-carded, but Kishimoto who had just replaced injured Kololli sent Santana in the middle. The latter produced a solid shot which found the net thanks to a small deviation.

Luck had been with us until the last second.

Now, we will have to confirm our revival next Saturday at home against Urawa Reds!
