REPORT

Shimizu S-Pulse lost the game in the first half-time when they were again caught cold in the starting minutes from a free kick allowing a middle shoot from Tosu to be followed 15 minutes later by their flat-footed defense being hopelessly overlapped by a side attack.
From then on it was catch up game with dangerous shoots from Mitchell Duke and Hasegawa during the first half time.

The second half time saw more efforts from S-Pulse who finally pulled one goal back thanks to Hasegawa who seems to enjoy his new forward responsibilities. A change of strategy of 4-1-4-1 instead of the classic 4-4-2 with Kanu being given a free rein was not enough to bring at least one point from that game.

In spite of their early lapses S-Pulse valiantly fought during the whole game and will be disappointed with this long fruitless trip to the other end of Japan. Their gap with relegation-threatened opponents is still comfortable enough and a positive result against the tough leaders of the J1 League, Cerezo Osaka, would do them a lot of good!

Let’s all give them a hand next Wednesday at Nihondaira Stadium!
