REPORT

A tale of two halves!
The first half saw an enterprising if prudent S-Pulse soaking pressure and giving back as much. Urawa for all the chances they created did not manage a single shot on target while S-Pulse clinically converted one of their two shots with an opportunistic heading from Kakuta from a well-directed corner kick from the right. S-Pulse finished on high note and their fans were bubbling with expectation.

Unfortunately the second half saw S-Pulse inexplicably surrendering their whole misfield in a misled over defensive strategy forgetting the dangerous Urawa moves on both wings repeatedly taking the S-Pulse off guard. That negative approach resulted into two simple goals by the Urawa given far too much freedom and should have scored but for poor finishing. S-Pulse somewhat reacted too late with three clear chances all frustratingly ending wide or in confusion.

S-Pulse still has a cushion of 5 points above the red zone with 10 games left and the fight for survival will continue with a visit in neighboring Yamanashi Prefecture against fellow strugglers Ventforet Kofu. At the very least they need to secure a point, but with so many strikers unavailable through injury they will have to show more grit and intelligence!

But we are still all behind you! Your fans unwavering fans deserve Better!
