REPORT

Yet another precious point stolen away from home!

And this time the defenders were the heroes!

S-Pulse started this game with a revamped defense due to Matsubara’s long ban following the red card served against Jubilo for violent retribution. Inukai was called for the first time in 19 games and Shimizu started in the company of Futami and Kamata. As for the midfield and attack it was basically run of the mill except for Thiago Alves replacing injured Chong Tese.

The first half did not see much action or chances except for a Mitchell Duke’s being blocked following a free kick by Thiago Alves.

As for the second half it was non-stop pressure from Sendai who had twice as many shots to the goal for the whole match. Times saw no less than three S-Pulse players blocking a single Sendai opponent in an all-out defense strategy. For once the defense made us proud all day with Rokutan saving the game at the very minute with a desperate lunge.

Next Sunday in the Japanese capital it will another fight for at least a point against FC Tokyo. S-Pulse having a 3-point cushion with Sanfrecce having a difficult game on their hands we can reasonably hope for at least the same situation before taking on two opponents at home.

Continue to make us proud!
