REPORT

Power of the Young!

With the help of some veterans!

S-Pulse thoroughly deserved their win against a sometimes one-dimensional Nagoya team that concentrated too much on their opponents’ right flank. Most of the first half was equally shared which first saw Rokutan makes a fine save while a goal was disallowed to Kitagawa for offside. But as they contained Grampus with relative ease S-Pulse’s attacks were becoming more dangerous and sharper. And the best time, that is just before the half time whistle Kawai led a fast counter dribbling through the center before passing inside the box on his right between two defenders to Kitagawa who calmly left footed past a helpless goal keeper.

The second half saw even more authority from S-Pulse although the real chances were few.Once again at an important time of the second half, that is, in the 69th minute, Crislan, instead of assuming his role of a striker turned provider by passing down the center with his back at the goal which allowed Ishige to rifle one of his long range shots low into the right corner of the goal.

Grampus stolidly went onto the attack again and their efforts were rewarded in the 81st minute when Tocha produced a splendid diving heading that Rokutan could not do anything against.

But the introduction of the two veterans, Duke and Tese, sealed the match in the 85Th minute when Duke sent the perfect short cross from the left for Tese who served a caviar to Kaneko who just had to make sure that he shot in the right direction.

This game finally proved the team’s worth. Now it will be of vital importance to keep on the on the momentum and the next game against Kashiwa Reysol will not only become the occasion to break home jinx but also to lay the foundation to a successful season!

Let’s hope that more fans will come to cheer their team!
