Minimal Service. S-Pulse had to come back with a win from a faraway destination without fielding too many first-string players. But the squad being very deep in numbers and quality, the team taking the ground was too good for their J2 League opponents.
During he first half S-Pulse contented themselves with giving away possession but tightly controlling the day with Renato stealing time and again dangerous balls in the midfield. In the 25th minute the combination of veteran’s experience, youth speed and regular’s efficiency took care of the goal they needed. Nakumura started the move along the right flank passing to Taki who dribbled past the defense before sending a cross that Kusukami tapped in calmly.
The second half witnessed a tranquil domination by S-Pulse who made sure to ensure the result with minimum fuss and saving strength and stamina for the coming big game against Sapporo on Saturday.
S-Pulse are now in the last sixteen of the Emperor’s Cup and they will take the rest of the competition seriously and accordingly!
