REPORT
Those disappointing losses definitely follow a pattern!

Great first half but fails to kill the game. Opponents patiently go through it and strike in the second half against a lethargic and tired team. Unfortunately most teams in the J 1 League have understood the pattern too well and one could venture as far as to predict the final result at half time. A far cry from those last-minute wins that carried S-Pulse through in the middle of the season! Truth be told, S-Pulse had lost half of its defense through injuries to linchpin members Elsinho, Yoshimoto (until the end of the season) and Renato. Tatsuta could not be used because of recent involvement with the National Under-23 Olympic Team and to make matters worse Musaka had to leave early with another injury!

Douglas missed an open goal from 10meters in the 9th minute and Nishizawa was unlucky not to score in the 23rd minute. Douglas scored a very clever goal from a free kick just outside the box, a goal that will probably make one of the best ten goals of J 1 League season. But the second half witnessed a defense repeatedly caught out of position and horribly out maneuvered by a team which lies fourth in the League and who is deadly on such mistakes. Both goals conceded in the second goal could and should have been avoided. With all the promising young attackers knocking at the door S-Pulse will have to concentrate its next recruiting on defense and defense only!

It is still a long season and S-Pulse should navigate safely enough but it will be sheer hard work! For the moment they will to concentrate of the Emperor’s Cup quarter finals and a tiring trip to Kyushu. Let’s wish them all the best!
