REPORT
The end of the “tunnel”? In any case, a very good win, the more for it that it was S-Pulse’s 400th win as a professional football club.

It was also the sweeter for it being their first away win of the season and only the second clean sheet of the present campaign.

Making use of the available players, in the very own words of Head Coach Cklamovski, they used a flexible 3-5-2 formation which actually kept changing during the game, everyone knowing their job both in defense and offence.

In-form Dutra should have scored a fine goal in the 21st minute, but it was refused because of a foul by Nakamura which the video could not even prove. In the 34th minute Carlhinos had a fine shot saved by an excellent opposite goal keeper. S-Pulse only marginally dominated the first half but they took the second by scruff of the neck with constant attacking.

They were rewarded in the 54Th minute when Nakamura sent a sweet pass to Goto who ran past the defense before sending the perfect cross for Carlinhos who made no mistake with a perfectly controlled volley.

They had to wait until the 86th minute to show for their domination when Dutra fought a ball out of two defenders to run for 20 meters before sending a controlled shot from outside the box that left no chance to the opposite goal keeper. In extra time, they put the ice on the cake when Takeuchi sent Suzuki past the opposite defense before the latter centered back to Dutra whose shot hit the far post before Nishizawa slotted the rebound in.

All in all, it was a great performance proving the will and heart of the whole team in spite of a long nightmare. They have the skills and potential to beat any team on heir day, but this is soccer, the most unpredictable sport of all.

Next Wednesday see them play home against Urawa Reds, a team they have a special grudge against. Let us hope this will be the beginning of a new venture!
