REPORT
A somewhat frustrating draw away at Shonan Bellmare who absolutely needed to win that particular match, but the draw is probably a fair result when you consider that Japan national Team goalkeeper Gonda kept the side alive on many an occasion.
We certainly had plenty of action!
In the 4th minute Gonda made his first great save to keep his team in touch.
In the 17th minute new signing Kollolli proved his value, although not completely fit yet to last the whole game by extending the opposite goalkeeper into a very fine save with a fine low shot aimed at the far post.
In the 30th minute a typical goal was conceded. But the 45th minute saw a superb solo goal by teenager Yuito Suzuki who dribbled through four defenders before beating the goalkeeper with a cheeky lob.
In the 59th minute a clever cross by Kolloli provoked all kinds of chances not exploited until other new signing Ronaldo’s shot was deflected over the bar.
A minute later another fine attack was almost converted by Yuito Suzuki.
In the 68th minute Gonda had to extend himself with another fine save when S-Pulse could not clear the ball properly. He had to produce another great save from the following corner kick. The last minutes saw plenty of good soccer from both sides until the very last seconds but to no avail.
Man of the match goalkeeper Gonda certainly saved the draw for his team but S-pulse also had many occasions to steal the game. Newly signed midfielders, Matsuoka, Ronaldo and especially Kollolli all had a fine game and when Nakamura is fully fit again, they could well prove a formidable force to contend with the backing of such player as Nishizawa, Taki and Nakayama.
Teenager Yuito Suzuki is becoming better and better with every game and could well become the next star in the team and with at least 4 more youngsters waiting in the background to team up with him, Shimizu S-Pulse could find themselves with enough leeway to reinforce the defense which is still somewhat unsecure but for Gonda. The absence of injured Yoshinori Suzuki is certainly costing them.
The next game is at home on Wednesday against Kashima Antlers and we hope the recent improvement will at last bear fruits for the delight of the fans!
