REPORT

Big win and we are not going to complain we win our games away!

Mind you, it would turn things around if we could break that jinx at home and all those drawn games. Had we won the latter we would be near the top of the League!

As usual, the “Shirasu Derby” was entertaining with attacking soccer from both teams form kickoff to the final whistle. But both defenses could have done better.

Shonan were the first to shoot at goal in the 5th but it was comfortably saved by Gonda.

In the 15th minute Yuito Suzuki who is both a midfielder and a striker showed his passing skills by sending Shirasaki into the box but the latter was well blocked by the opposite keeper.

In the 20th minute Hara struck a vicious long-range shot which almost beat the Shonan keeper.

In the 24th minute Shonan wasted a great chance when a cross found an unmarked attacker who volleyed wide.

In the 29th minute they even came closer when a bad clearing was shot from long-range and Gonda could only palm it onto the post.

In the 32nd minute S-Pulse finally broke the deadlock when a counter saw Yuito Suzuki send a great pass to Nakayama who finally beat the opposite keeper with a cross low shot inside the far corner.

2 minutes later S-Pulse increased their lead when the Shonan defense could not clear a swerving high corner kick which first bounced onto Santana whose heading was once again repulsed by the keeper as well as the rebound but Yuito Suzuki made no mistake with the second rebound.

Only 2 minutes later Yuito Suzuki beat the whole defense with his speed to send a cross to Shirasaki who somehow tapped the ball home.

In the 40th minute Gonda somehow saved a point-blank shot from an opposite forward who found himself in a one on one situation.

The second half witnessed even more attacking, especially from Shonan.

In the 50th minute the S-Pulse defense found themselves completely out of position and conceded a soft goal headed from an unopposed looping cross that beat everyone else.

But in the 59th minute it was the turn of Shonan showing horrible defense against a corner kick that was finally shot through by Yoshinori Suzuki.

The end of the game on the other hand saw easy chances on both sides being hopelessly wasted.

S-Pulse deserved their win and for once made without too many back passes.

They will have to improve though on Saturday when thy meet at home Kawasaki, a team they are never comfortable against.

Are we going to put the jinx to rest?
