REPORT
At last, the home jinx broken! Well, at least half of it as we still have to get our first home win for this year J 1 League season!
A good win, even if it was a dead rubber as no miracle allowed us to proceed to the play-offs.
The starting lineup was completely changed to include second-string, veteran and young players, with at least one, Taki, playing in an unfamiliar position.
Truth be told, it might have been an irrelevant game in the competition, but it was an important one for some players whose last chance it was to impress.
In front of the smallest home crowd of the year who were treated to their first home fireworks, S-Pulse played evenly with their opponents from most of the match.
S-Pulse were first to score in the 34th minute when from a corner kick by Nishizawa, Kishimoto somehow managed to head into the net.
They had to take in some pressure in a seesaw game that saw Hirshima equalize in the 61st minute waking up the ghosts of another draw.
But in the 83rd minute Nishizawa sent Taki through into the box to score the winning goal.
S-Pulse somehow soaked the final pressure unscathed until the final whistle.
Again, the game had no influence on the group standings, but at least it augurs well for the near future.
A good crowd of fans should come home on Saturday with another good result against Nagoya Granpus!
