REPORT
How unlucky can you be?

Mind you it seemed that S-Pulse did everything to punish themselves at home where games have so far proved so much harder to win than away games.

When Gamba won the toss they decided to break tradition and decided to start form their “own half“, facing their fans. S-Pulse appeared to be caught off guard and promptly lost possession after kick off. The ball traveled along the left flank where an ambitious came across Rokutan’s goal who palmed it away just to see Tatsuta put it back inside the goal for an own goal! Everyone, including the Gamba players were struck speechless. The first half witnessed a completely disorganized S-Pulse going nowhere and a soft goal was conceded in the 26th minute by a central defense looking at each other in total disarray.

S-Pulse somehow the end of the first half without any further damage and came back in the second half with more determination and flair. Kitagawa saw a goal disallowed for offside before Douglas served him the perfect pass in the 76th minute. After that it was a complete domination by S-Pulse who had twice as many shots at goal but alas two of them struck the posts and the opposing goal keeper did the rest to frustrate them.

A very frustrating result again at home when things could and should looked rosier for the rest of the season. So it is back to more trench war to ensure at least an easy escape from the red zone.

Let’s hope S-Pulse will reassure their fans next Saturday in Tokyo where a difficult game in inclement weather is waiting for the!
