REPORT
At last!

And the first Derby Game against Jubilo Iwata to boot! But it could and should have been an easier game! After a goalless first half when Shimizu S-Pulse controlled the game well enough they were offered a gift at the 47th minute when Elsinho cut a bad pass by the opposite goal keeper to send Taki to an easy goal. At 78th minute Tese should have killed the game but missed the penalty kick. S-Pulse had then to soak an all-out attack and were save twice by the bar and post bust somehow survived the day unscathed for the first time this season.

Now all the four teams in Levain Group D are on the same level Gamba having beaten Matsumoto. That should provide a good enough platform to perform well in that particular competition.

The strategy of the day was also a 4-4-2 and we seem to be back to it for some time to come.

19 years old Taki is proving a new force upfront and could well start the next game. But the team selected might show a few surprises as more starting members were used for this Levain game.

Next game is a tough one against Vissel Kobe and all its stars in Kobe, especially thinking of the unsavory end of that last home game last season! Let’s hope it will be a clean game to remember for the right reasons!
