REPORT
A really frustrating loss! The kind of game that leaves you fuming for a long time.
The main reason was that danger always came through the same kind of action with Oita sending a long pass on S-Pulse’s left flank who got their off-side beaten by speed. In the 16th minute such a long pass sent 30 meters inside Oita’s half beat the whole defense for an cross being slotted in with no opposition.
S-Pulse did well to equalize in the 26th minute when a sweet combination by Elsinho and Carlinhos sent Dutra past the defense. The latter courageously slotted in the ball and got hit by the goalkeeper at the same time. In the ensuing seconds Dutra got yellow carded to the general disbelief but the opposite goalkeeper got away for hitting Dutra late. In the 32nd and 36th minute S-Pulse came agonizingly close to taking the advantage.
The second half was quite insipid and marred with bad temper. S-Pulse fell also into that trap with no less than 6 yellow cards while their opponents escaped unscathed. In the 76th minute another long pass beat the offside trap on the leg side again and the winning goal was conceded after a rebound from the bar.
It is a long road but S-Pulse will have to bite the bit and show their fighting spirit again, which they do not lack.
Next game will be played on Saturday against Hiroshima Sanfrecce very probably under heavy rain with a typhoon coming just at that time! Let’s hope we can call it the Orange Typhoon!
