REPORT
Another frustrating game played in impossible rainy conditions! S-Pulse were caught cold in the 14th minute when Hiroshima directly scored from a splendid free kick taken outside the box Nishibe could do little to save.

In the 35th minute Elsinho came close to equalizing at the end of a well-orchestrated attack. A few minutes later Nishimura, one of the young being called to palliate all the injuries and yellow cards preventing a proper team to be fielded came very close with a fine heading from a well-drilled corner kick. In the 41st minute, Carlinhos came close with connecting a heading to Suzuki’s fine cross just to see the ball deflected by the bar.

S-Pulse started the second half well enough when Dutra shot through a forest of legs for a somewhat lucky equalization. Unfortunately, 2 minutes later S-Pulse conceded a soft goal after a free kick was not properly cleared.

Then things went from bad to worse in the 74th minute when S-Pulse conceded another soft goal on a counter which was too naively defended. Carlinhos had a good chance to pull one goal back on a quick counter in the 83rd minute but his shot was not strong enough to beat the opposite keeper who managed to defect it. In the 86th minute S-Pulse exploited a weak clearing to end up in a fine heading by Goto. 2 minutes later fate betrayed S-Pulse when Carlinhos’ fine shot hit the bar and Goto could not knock in the rebound.

A frustrating game for all, but S-Pulse never gave up, even with a team missing many frontline members. There are still a lot of positives in spite of all those consecutive losses. It will take time and a lot of work but I am confident Shimizu will surprise others soon or later!

Next game is a difficult away match against Tokyo FC but S-Pulse has nothing to lose!
