REPORT
Another match to forget.
Shimizu did not play badly but the defense is just too naïve with players defending with their back instead of their legs. All the goals, including Dutra’s sole goal were basically all gifts.

In the 3rd minute Carlinhos had a clear chance at goal but his shot flew over the bar. In the 23rd minute S-Pulse conceded probably the softest goal of the season after having clumsily repulsed three attempts in a row before letting the ball in via a opposite forward and an unlucky Valdo. Umeda did better than on the first goal to make a good save in the 39th minute after a Tokyo’s quick counter.

The 54th minute saw a gift by S-Pulse after a weak goalkeeper’s kick to allow Tokyo to score their goal against a naïve Shimizu. In the 71st minute Umeda did well to save a long-range shot. In the 78th minute Dutra was offered the ball directly by the opposite goal keeper to score a goal reminiscent of a high school game.

But in the 84th minute S-Pulse managed to concede another soft goal being too easily run out on their right flank to see four defenders watching an unmarked Tokyo forward slot in the easiest of goals.

Shimizu S-Pulse is a very entertaining team but it is high time they add dome grit to their game. Let’s hope they will start doing so on Sunday against Sagan Tosu!
