REPORT

It has been a long season with no real purpose or goal to attend due to the pandemic which caused a major reshuffle of the season with no demotions. This and the fact that S-Pulse were missing two of their major players, Renato and Carlinhos can explain a disjointed performance.

This was exposed in the 16th minute when S-Pulse were woeful in defending a corner kick. In the 28th minute Nishizawa scored from middle-range after a well-enough orchestrated move and it seemed then S-Pulse would start putting their stamp on the game.

But in the 45th minute they first failed to defend a pass that exposed them with a cross behind the defense line. It was first kicked away but the defense again looked at each other to allow all the time for a long range shot that found its target without any opposition, defenders once again lazily using their backs instead of their feet.

They did courageously went on the attack and were rewarded with a fine heading after Nakamura had sent Seok Ho behind Sendai’s defense before sending the perfect cross. But then the defense became more and more shambolic and in the 83rd minute it became pure humiliation when a free kick was shot directly in almost empty net when everybody was expecting a overhead cross.

Time to forget the whole frustrating experience and concentrate on the last game of the season on Saturday away against Gamba Osaka! Also time to show some mettle for the honor of the club!
