REPORT

A difficult and slightly disappointing match, but S-Pulse had to del with a full infirmary and use young players to give a well-earned rest to some regular players.

Actually, no less than 6 players under the age of 22 entered the pitch.

Lack of experience and coordination played against them for the whole first half when they did not get much a clear chance to score.

In fact, pressure told when Kishimoto conceded a penalty kick in the 23rd minute that Okubo could do little to fend off.

In the second half 4 substitutions in the 53rd minute brought some more power and coordination. In the 68th minute Yuito Suzuki hit the cross bar. But 2 minutes later Kamiya scored a beauty from a free kick outside the penalty box to put both teams level.

Unfortunately, despite a lot of action the score did not change. S-Pulse will rue too many simple errors, especially during the first half, even if it fielded a very inexperienced starting eleven.

The positive side of the story is that they still keep a sole second place in their group and have preserved their chances to qualify for the play-offs.

Next Saturday will witness a return to the J1 League competition with a difficult trip to Yokohama to face F Marinos. This could well become the first true test of the season!

Let us hope for a nice surprise. Shimizu S-Pulse has the potential to please their super fans!
