REPORT
A match to forget…
With all these injuries piling up, players are getting exhausted physically and especially mentally.
And everything played against them on that day, a day which witnessed more 10,000 for the first time since Covid-19 fell onto us.
They were going to retire for a rest after a forgettable first half when last disaster struck when defender Ibayashi conceded an own goal.
S-Pulse courageously enough went on the attack after the pause and were rewarded with Takahashi’s first ever goal for his club in the 54th minute when he was sent through into the box by a fine pass by Kamiya to finally shoot between the legs of the opposite goal keeper with his left foot.
But only 3 minutes later they conceded a soft goal with their defense completely at bay.
S-Pulse nonetheless went back onto the attack and actually had more shots on target their opponents but conceded almost twice as many free kicks.
In the 87th minute another soft goal banged the nails into their coffin and were lefts with regrets only.
Head Coach Hiraoka admitted that we literally gifted our opponents with goals but Captain Gonda was still upbeat and refused to stay negative and promised a reaction for next game at home again on Saturday against Vissel Kobe, especially with some players starting recovering from their injuries!
Let us hope for even more fans to encourage their team!
