REPORT
A gritty draw?
Another lost opportunity?
Arguably both of them!
On a game when the final teams’ data were practically the same, once again the game could have been divided into two distinct periods.
S-Pulse started slowly and played with fire. In the 6th minute Urawa missed two successive golden opportunity after some poor defense.
In the 15th minute some horrible defense was only saved by a post.
In the 30th minute Gonda conceded a penalty as one more Urawa attacker was sent through the middle.
In the 40th minute Yuito Suzuki missed by very little a chance to equalize after a good interception.
The second half saw some good attacking. Yuito Suzuki once again had a good chance to equalize heading a good cross barely past the post.
In the 53rd minute the game changed when an Urawa attack was barely saved by Gonda but a silly ensuing foul by an Urawa player ended into a red card.
It gave the chance for S-Pulse to control the game and score very shortly after with a great heading from Valdo converting a superb cross from Yamahara.
But for the very last minute S-Pulse could not take advantage of their numerical superiority and were left with a somewhat frustrating draw.
Next game on Sunday at home should witness some more players coming back from injury against Gamba Osaka!
Let us hope that our fans will at last enjoy a home win!
