REPORT

We seem to have found a new way to throw away victory, and once again at the very last minute of no less than 7 minutes of extra time!

This is really disheartening for our long-suffering fans!

The crowd was already lower than expected and such a result will not improve things!

The match had started well with S-Pulse dominating most of the operations with many half chances that a gritty Gamba defense somehow repulsed. It could be said the game was maybe already escaping us as we were not able to show anything for our domination. Truth be told we had been once again forced to change the midfield with two more injuries and replacing them with only half-fit players.

This gave the occasion for the new recruit Oh Se Un to start the game and he did not disappoint. His height and frame are a load to contend with and his ground work is good enough to add to his threatening presence.

And he managed to score his first goal for the club and this during his first start in the J1 League when his striker’s instincts enabled him to pounce on a cross that Gamba could not clear out. He will certainly become part of a powerful striking combination with Yuito Suzuki, especially knowing there are plenty of strikers waiting on the bench to help out any time.

Unfortunately for all the good work, the team went on the defensive from the 75th minute in a mistaken strategy, surrending the midfield to their opponents and wishfully they could keep them out of reach.

Gamba showed us the grit we missed and in the very last second managed to grab the goal that left the fans aghast in uncomprehending horror.

Well, we can only forget this sad day and move forward, knowing we have the potential for better things, starting with a Levain Cup game away at Tokushima on Wednesday. If we win that game we will have a very good chance to qualify for the playoffs and bring some smiles back on our fans’ faces!
