REPORT

One step forward, one step backward, …

We are losing continuity that had finally seemed to be achieved…

We are still only 6 points behind the second automatic promotion spot and we have not reached the half season point. There is still plenty of hope but also plenty of work left!

We certainly need new ideas and also new blood!

A game to forget when all that could go wrong did so with some sheer bad luck added.

In the 13th minute Carlinhos could have done better when he fired a shot inside the box only meters away from the goal keeper who managed to palm away his attempt.

In the 34th minute bad went to worse when again Carlinhos sent the perfect cross to a completed unmarked Santana who made a mess of his volley with the ball not even on target for a few meters away.

In the 35th minute Shimizu S-Pulse just looked at a Yamagata forward control, adjust and fire a shot from outside the box that Gonda somehow palmed away.

In the 42nd minute almost an identical situation occurred again and the S-Pulse defense which had learned their lesson conceded the softest goal of all.

To add insult to injury it was scored by a former S-Pulse player who knew too much about S-Pulse, …

In the 44th minute Santana’s long-range shot was somehow pushed away by the Yamagata keeper.

In the 48th minute very poor passing work led to a Yamagata counter who made no mistake in teaching S-Pulse how to convert chances.

In the 59th minute Carlinhos saw his long-range attempt somehow pushed away by the Yamagata keeper, the Man of the Match on that day.

In the 74th minute a long pass found Shirasaki who this time made no mistake from just outside the box.

A game we simply did our best to give away!

Now the next game will see the 2nd Round of the Emperor’s Cup pitching us against J3 League side Gifu at home on Wednesday.

A good occasion to recharge our batteries and come up with a new momentum!
