Silly draw if there was one!

We “scored” all the goals and still manage to end with a frustrating draw!

The absence of game maker Inui through too many yellow cards did disrupt the line up and the strategy but there is no real excuse. Too many wins piling the pressure?

In front of a pitifully small crowd we did not start as hoped and in the 15th minute a bad pass by Santana ended up with a very dangerous counter we somehow escaped from thanks to our right post.

We lived again dangerously in the 28th minute when a long range shot by Akita flew just above the bar with a flat-footed defense out of position.

Our first chance came in the 28th minute but Santana’s final head was completely missed.

All in all, we were simply dominated in the first half.

The second half continued in the same trend with a corner kick on our right flank. Gonda, of all players, only managed to deviate the ball into his own goal to the general surprise, especially when the Akita forwards themselves could not believe that there was no fault on Gonda…

But that bad piece of very bad luck did not discourage S-Pulse and in the 73rd minute their pressure finally paid off with a beautiful direct head from the perfect corner kick flew under the roof of Akita’s goal leaving no chance to the keeper.

Both teams had their chances before the end but it all ended into a tame draw which allowed us to come within one point of the automatic promotion second spot.

We are now left with ten games to ensure we get and keep this 2nd spot, starting with a home game against Tokushima!

Be certain the fans will come in masse!
