REPORT

Frustrating and disappointing draw that put us with our backs against the wall once again.

14th draw, exactly 1 out of 3 matches for the whole season…

But that loss at home against Kumamoto will haunt us forever…

Although we marginally dominated possession, we had too few shots on target with none during the first half. Once again, we missed another good chance for lack of mental resilience against a team whose season was already finished with nothing to gain or lose.

In the 10th minute a poorly cleared corner kick could have ended with another soft goal.

In the 14th minute a defensive blunder was barely countered at the last second.

In the 36th minute we allowed a long range shot too easily which could have been more dangerous with better accuracy.

In first half extra time Gonda had to extend himself to push away and excellent long-range free kick.

In the 52nd minute we had our first shot at goal from a corner kick but Shirasaki’s long range shot flew above the bar.

In the next minute Shirasaki again saw his heading from Yamahara’s excellent cross fly past the far post.

In the 60th minute Shirasaki missed the goal for the first time in spite of a great cross by Inui.

And in the 62nd minute we committed a high school blunder when a simple pass by the defense went directly to a Mito forward who passed ahead to a fellow forward who made no mistake with an excellent heading. Talk of a gifted soft goal…

We had to wait until the 81st minute to see Santana at last heading a great cross into the net for a fine goal.

In the 87th, 89th, 92nd minute Kitazume, Kololli and Santana all wasted great chances to put us ahead.

Waste… the word resuming a really frustrating performance.

Now it will be a live or die situation starting with the play off 1st round against Montedio Yamagata at home on Saturday 25th.

Will we find the resources to at last please our supporters who deserve so much better?
