Damaging loss in the very words of the staff.
We gambled by starting the games with ten changes, most of them young players, from last game against an opponent who was not ready to make any sacrifice, even if it was only a Cup game, albeit the Shizuoka Derby they had not won for the last 5 encounters.
After the best start possible, we just got completely dominated with only 5 shots at goal against a massive 14 for Jubilo, a single corner kick against an enormous 11 for the opposition and 8 free kicks against 11. And to add insult to injury we suffered two yellow cards
In the 1st minute we gave a false impression of ease when some quick passes in midfield that sent youngster Kotake along the right flank before sending the perfect cross that Ahmedov sweetly headed home for his first ever goal for his new club.
And then we proceeded to throw away great chances with at least two in the first half including one that bounced off a post which should have killed the game for good.
Then the second half became a general surrender giving away three quarters of the possession to a team which had introduced even more experienced players at half time.
We conceded two easy goals and averted a third one for absolutely nothing to show to our credit with slow unconcerned defense and completely absent attack.
You simply may not play only one half. Although dominated in the first half Jubilo deserved their win in the second half.
Now, if we do not win our next League game at home on Saturday against Kawasaki Frontale, a team we do not do well against, we will have to ask ourselves some serious questions. Let us hope our fans will be offered a sweet surprise!
