REPORT
How did we manage to lose a game we had done everything to win against all odds until the 78th minute?
Until then the defense had been magnificent.
In the 70th minute we had scored a great goal through Yamahara running past the opposite right defense to send the perfect cross which Kololli met at the far post with a superb heading.
And then the game completely unraveled.
In the 78th minute a flat-footed defense allowed another soft goal like we have seen so many times for the last three years.
And in extra time we conceded another soft goal almost in the same manner.
Truth to tell, we played against an opponent with unsavory tactics, bordering on xenophobism at times that even so calm Gonda complained about, but one has to learn how to counter such behavior. We play very pleasant football indeed, but we are just too nice.
Kololli has been showing the way in recent games with a sterner no-nonsense attitude. His team mates would do well to emulate him.
We have the potential to be a very good team, but we need to light the spark that will carry us through this kind of difficult games.
Next game on Wednesday we will be facing another such team in the name of Urawa Reds on their ground. Now, let us prove what metal we are made of for the sake of the club, the players and our enduring fans!
