REPORT
Shimizu suffered in Suita this evening as Gamba Osaka defeated our boys in orange by four goals to zero. A bright start which saw a corner won with barely a minute was on the clock had us hoping for great things. However, the home side snatched two goals in 8 minutes, which left us rocking. The wind firmly in the home side’s sails we struggled to create many chances, but on the plus side we were able to steady the ship somewhat.
The first half we saw out with the score at 2-0, which gave us every chance of finding a way back into the game in the second half. Again, while we began the half with purpose and a clear ambition to reduce the deficit, in the 56th minute G. Osaka forward Partic met a cross to head past Aizawa. Aizawa pulled off a string of wonderful saves over the course of the 90 minutes, but with two minutes remaining, even he couldn’t prevent Lins from steering a ball home to bring Osaka’s tally up to four.
It was a tough game for Shimizu, but now with four days before our next match we have an opportunity to regroup and rally. This weekend’s opponents today conceded five goals, so with that in mind there is no reason we shouldn’t approach the game with confidence. It’s easy to get behind a team when things are going well, but these are the times when the priceless work of supporters is most important. The next game is back in Shimizu at the IAI Stadium Nihondaira, so join thousands of other S-Pulse fans as we welcome Kashiwa Reysol to town. Cheer on our boys and help seize a win that will get everything back on track. Don’t miss out, see you there!
Forza S-Pulse!
