REPORT

!3th draw of the season… Already 1 out of 3 for the whole season which has yet to finish…

We may have slightly increased our lead on our closest rivals but we can already say goodbye to the first spot.

We shared two thirds of the possession but managed only as many shots at goal.

Truth be told, Ventforet Kofu who still have a slim chance for the playoffs, came with the clear intention and satisfaction of a draw.

In the 2nd minute Kofu actually had the first shot on target with a mid-range attempt that Gonda comfortably caught.

But we to wait for 20 minutes before S-Pulse had a chance at goal with Santana somehow deflecting a cros backwards to Carlinhos whose shot was just too straight to beat the opposite goal keeper from outside the box.

In the 29th minute Kofu exploited a very poor midfield pass before shooting again from mid-range which forced Gonda into a great save.

In the 38th minute Carlinhos produced an excellent cross but it was missed by centimeters by the last attacker.

In the 53rd minute Yamahara sent a cross to the near post but Inui could not convert the difficult half chance.

In the 59th minute Santana should have easily converted a good cross meters from goal but he decided to be intelligent and tried a back flip for another forward which never reached its target in a frustrating waste of a clear chance.

In the 69th minute a lazy S-Pulse defense allowed a sole Kofu forward to have his club’s chance of the day but once again Gonda saved the day.

In the following minutes both clubs had a similar chance with a similar result with the final shot flying over the bar.

All in all, however frustrating a draw was a fair result.

S-Pulse will have to crank up if they want to win the next two games, both Shizuoka derbies, absolutely vital for promotion, starting with an away trip to dangerous Fujieda. At least Ronaldo will be back and fans will certainly be coming in vast numbers to their neighbors!
