REPORT

S-pulse achieved an important victory that stopped Shimizu’s losing streak at 2.

In the first half, Shimizu struggled and was not able to create any chances because of Kashiwa’s aggressive defense. On the other hand, Kashiwa created real goalscoring opportunity several times including 8 direct free kicks and 3 corner kicks. However Shimizu’s players stayed coolheaded in this crisis situation, finally managed to succeed a clean sheet.

After a little while, 2nd half, S-pulse fought back with Shimizu’s substitute Kazuya Murata who has been in good shape in 62th minute. Tese, Captain of the S-pulse, in 65th minute, connected well with a No11 Murata’s cross, then S-pulse created an opening goal at last. In fact, Tese has scored 8 goals against Kashiwa in 12 matches so far. This goal could have been an inevitable result.

Just before the whistle below for the end of the game, Shimizu made their victory sure by adding another goal with substitute Mitchell Duke.

Kashiwa took 8 corner kicks and 17 free kicks but S-pulse did not allow Kashiwa to score from any attacking variations. To succeed a clean sheet would be a valuable result for Shimizu and they will go into the next J1 match against Omiya with their firm confidence.
