REPORT

The first hurdle of the last stretch somehow cleared!

It was not an easy game, what with many absences caused by injuries, bans and even a happy birth!

It certainly was a bit strange team, lacking some coordination, especially in attack when a few half chances at the beginning of the game were helplessly wasted.

In the 24th minute Hiroshima were lucky not to concede an own goal. In the 30th Minute a long pass by Yoshinori Suzuki from the center of the field found Yuito Suzuki on his right who shot from an acute goal only to see the ball bounce from the far post. But Santana who was lurking in front of that very spot easily tapped it in an empty goal. The rest of the first half ended up in a somewhat soporific manner with no real chance from either side.

The second half saw Sanfrecce on the attack and they just missed the goal on the 48th minute, In the very next minute Santana had a chance from long range but it went straight to the goal keeper.

In the 57th minute it was the turn of Sanfrecce to see a shoot barely miss their target. In the 62nd minute Nishizawa wasted a good chance over the bar.

In the following minute Gonda showed his National Team status by stretching himself to the full to deviate a vicious shot away with his fingertips. In the 74th minute Gonda again saved his side by repulsing a very dangerous low cross. In the 80th minute Gonda saved his team for the third time with another great save. He was actually angry with himself for not controlling the shot as cleanly as he would have wished. Once again it was Gonda who beat the opposition.

We have somehow protected our 3-point gap with Tokushima Vortis who surprised everyone by beating FC Tokyo in their home.

Our two direct opponents for escaping from the relegation Tokushima Vortis and Shonan Belmare will meet each other while we travel to Urawa next Saturday. We very well might have to win all our games to be safe. Hard work but possible with a new spirit found!
