REPORT

Soccer/Football can be a cruel game, but it also can be very ironical…

We won a game in a Competition that was more an hindrance than anything else, but we fielded a far stronger team than predicted to actually prepare the next J2 League along a new 4-3-3 formation strategy.

It ended up in an exciting see saw game for the few die-hard fans who were justly rewarded.

In the 28th minute Disaro passed to Nishizawa just outside the box left corner who sent a precise cross to the same Disaro who headed point blank to the goal keeper who somehow managed to parry the ball away but Kishimoto was there to strike the rebound through a very acute angle for a fine goal.

In the 36th minute Shonan almost equalized but their fine cross was met only for the ball to fly across the goal.

In the 42nd minute a fine right side corner kick by Nishizawa found the head of Ibayashi only for the ball to be palmed away by the goal keeper but a lurking Kololli made no mistake volleying the ball into goal.

But the beginning of the second half belonged to Shonan. In the 54th minute a dangerous cross from the right was met by a Shonan forward only to be deflected above the bar by an S-Pulse defender.

In the 64th minute S-Pulse were taken off guard by a good cross coming from their right that was too weakly cleared only to be met with a powerful shot that Okubo could do nothing against.

In the 67th minute poor defending allowed a Shonan forward running in from the left flank whose cross was first palmed away by Okubo but only to be easily met by another Shonan forward for a soft goal.

But for all disappointing defense S-Pulse did not give up

Their never give up attitude was rewarded in the 81st minute when a free kick from just outside the box was finally scrambled in by a lurking Santana after three other S-Pulse had a touch.

This means that if we beat Urawa at home for our last game of the B group, we qualify for the play off. A bit of a pleasant surprise, is it not?

Next Sunday it is back against Kanazawa at home for some revenge to be exacted in the J2 League. We can expect many fans!
