REPORT

Expected win against a team 2 divisions below us, but we did not always make things easy.

In spite of a very strong lineup a game that left more questions than answers.

Especially the defense underperformed notably against corner kicks, which has become a glaring weakness recently.

We started the game more or less as expected with two quick goals.

In the 5th minute new signing Brunetti from Brasil sent a dangerous cross that the Matsumoto defense failed to clear before Nakahara pounced on it for an opportunistic goal.

In the 10th minute Nakahara’s corner kick found Sumiyoshi’s head for another typical goal from the defender.

Matsumoto then managed to keep their game alive when in extra time they scored with a free header from a corner kick.

The 2nd half started well enough with an exploit from Yajima in the 48th minute.

But Matsumoto would not easily give up and in the 65th minute they repeated their first goal again from a corner kick headed by the same tall forward.

But in the 77th minute S-Pulse put he game on ice with Yumiba’s first goal for his new club.

On Wednesday July 16th, we will have to produce a better performance in a away game counting for the 3rd Round of the Emperor’s Cup against Shonan Belmare if we want to proceed any further.

But for the moment we have to concentrate on the J1 League resuming with another difficult game against Gamba Osaka at home on Sunday.

We will need all the help from our fans!
