REPORT
Excruciating and so disappointing game!
Once again we lost the game strategically and emotionally in a recurring pattern!
We offered a lifeline on a tray o a club we not only beat in Yokohama but a team in the red zone desperately needing a win to stay alive in J1 League.
Why did we have to revert to a rigid and sterile 4-back formation which has proved ineffective all year long?
Why did we dominate the game ridiculously with nothing to show?
Just look at the data:
18 shots at goal, only 6 on target and only one late goal to show.
Dominated possession by a 65% to 35%.
Dominated even more with passes on the tune of 562 to 315
We even passed better by 87% to 79%
But our opponents of the day sacrificed themselves to the tune of 18 fouls to ten and a whopping 5 yellow cards
However, Yokohama took their goals and prevented us from doing is not due to bad luck with such damning data.
Simply said our system was wrong and our finishing beyond woeful.
A story of all the chances missed on our side would only make the reading more painful.
Our 13th spot in the League might look comfortable but it is not at all. A couple more reverses and we will hovering close to the red zone for the first time of this season, making things even more untenable.
Our fans, a record attendance on the day, deserve better!
Time to regroup and show our true value next Saturday in Fukuoka!
